Just about everyone knows what a flamingo looks like. They are very popular birds. Flamingos live in a tropical climate. They can be found near estuaries and lakes. Because of their bright pink color and long neck and legs, it’s hard to mistake them for any other bird. The flamingo gets that bright coloring from the type of food it eats. Flamingos eat mostly shrimp-like crustaceans.

Flamingos are often studied in science curriculum along with other tropical birds. The curriculum includes science vocabulary that relate to flamingos. Along with the vocabulary, teachers enjoy including games and puzzles in their lessons. Practicing with games about flamingos is helpful to students by reinforcing the material.
